Challenge

Valdes Architecture & Engineering (Valdes) is supporting Phase III construction management services for facility improvements at the Illinois Tollway’s Central Warehouse and Sign Shop. The project includes renovating and modernizing building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing; installing a new fire suppression system and natural gas generator; replacing the roofing system; and constructing a new open-air pre-engineered metal building. All work is being completed while maintaining active sign shop operations.

Solution

Valdes is providing progress schedule review, submittal coordination, and on-site inspection of mechanical systems. Our team is leading the submittal review process across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, power, architectural, fire suppression, and general building elements. Document Controls staff are managing submittal workflows using Trimble Unity Connect, supporting stakeholder coordination. We are applying proven industry best practices throughout the review and inspection process, emphasizing timely turnaround, cross-discipline coordination, and quality assurance to support construction progress and long-term facility performance.
