Challenge

Valdes Architecture & Engineering (Valdes) is the prime consultant for Phase III construction management services on the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) Fiber Optic Improvements. This project extends from I-55 (Milepost 12.5) to Army Trail Road (Milepost 29.8) through DuPage and Will Counties in Illinois. The improvements involve installing new conduits, fiber optic cables, and communication handholes to enhance the Tollway’s fiber optic network.

Solution

Valdes is leading on-site construction inspection and project management responsibilities, including daily field inspections, project documentation and reporting, creation of KMZ (Google Earth) files for project control and inspection, coordination of schedule and project controls; review of contract documents, record drawings, and punch list completion, project survey layout and quality assurance and erosion control inspections.
